WHAT IS WINTER SOLSTICE? 何为冬至?

Winter Solstice is the fourth Solar Term of Winter period. It falls on 22 Dec 2023 (Fri). The amount of day light is the shortest in the whole year.

This is the time when the Yin energy is at its peak. At the same time, the new Yang energy begins to surface.

As the human body’s Yang energy begins to increase, the digestive system is efficient, thus it is a good period to tonify with appropriate foods. However it is important to take note not to over nourish the body resulting in indigestion.

冬至是二十四节气中的第二十二个节气,日期为2023年12月22日(星期五)。
冬至之日,太阳处于南回归线上,此时白天最短,人的影子最长,此前地球吸收太阳的热能进入地球的中心,收缩至极点,天地间阴气也达到极点。而“冬至一阳生”,则将地球的热能重新放射出来,慢慢上升,而我们人体只要顺应此初生的一阳,适当调摄,就对健康有益。
天地间阳气重新出来,人体的阳气也慢慢开始壮大了。此时我们的消化能力特别强,营养也容易吸收,所以应该继续进补,同时保持适当的运动量。

Recipe:
Blackberry Longan Tea

Benefits:
– Tonify the liver and kidneys, nourish the blood and promote good vision, slow down ageing process.

Ingredients:
– Blackberries 6-7pcs
– Dried Longans 6g
– Pine Nuts (Ready-to-Eat) 10g
– Honey (optional)

Instructions:
– Wash the blackberries and dried longans.
– Cut each of the blackberries into half.
– Place the ingredients into the pot.
– Add 500ml boiling water and simmer for 20min.
– (Optional) Add honey to taste.
– Add the Pine nuts into each cup serving after stirring the tea thoroughly.

食谱:
黑莓龙眼茶

功效:
补益肝肾,补血,明目,抗衰老。

材料:
– 黑莓 6-7颗
– 干龙眼肉 6克
– 松子仁 10g
– 蜂蜜 少许

步骤:
– 将黑莓与干龙眼用清水洗净。
– 将黑莓逐个切半。
– 将除了松子仁以外的所有材料放入壶中。
– 在壶里注入 500 毫升的沸水,浸泡20分钟。
– 按个人喜好选择性加入适量蜂蜜。
– 享用前搅匀、撒上松子仁。

1. Baihui Point (GV20)

Location:

On the top of the head, directly above the apex of the auricles on the midline of the head.

Massage gently in circular motion 20 times to stimulate the point.

位置:
在后发际正中直上7寸处。
(两耳尖连线中点,头顶正中是穴)

轻轻打圈按揉上述穴位约20次。
