Dragon Boat Festival (10 June 2024) was originally known as the Double Five Festival because it falls on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month. This day was traditionally considered unlucky and proned to plague and pests. It become a custom to hang mugwort (Artemisia argyi) above the doors of houses to repel insects, bacteria and viruses which flourish in the warmer weather in Summer.
In the modern world today, we can use the mugwort herb as tea for its anti-inflammatory properties. Mugwort teabags can also be used to repel insects by placing them in the various corners of the house. Simply place one teabag in a carry-on bag to ward off unwanted negative energies.
