Autumn Equinox is the fourth Solar Term of Autumn period. It falls on 23 Sep 2023 (Sat). On this day, the sun shines directly on the equator, whereby both the northern and southern hemispheres receive an equal amount of sunshine. This signifies a balance of the Yin and Yang energies. Thereafter, the Yin energy gradually increases implying a drop in temperature. During this period, the air is also less humid.
In accordance to these changes in temperature and humidity, we should intake food that is warm and hydrating in nature as well as take precaution to prevent over perspiration during exercise.

这一天,太阳直射地球赤道,24小时昼夜均分,因此我们在这个节气也要遵循阴阳平衡这一原则。此时阴气渐长,气温下降,空气变得更加干燥。在饮食方面,我们可以多吃以清润、温润为主的食物。此时也是运动的好时节,但建议选择较为简单的运动,谨防出汗过多,损耗津液。

Recipe:
Snow Pear Drink
Benefits:
– Clear the lungs and relief dry coughs
Ingredients:
– Shui Li Pear 1pc
– Apricot Kernels 6g
– Rock Sugar (Optional: add to taste)
Instructions:
– Wash the pear and apricot kernels.
– Remove the core of the pear, and cut into 4 pieces. (Keep the skin intact.)
– Add 500ml water and boil for 20min.
– Add rock sugar to taste.
食谱:
冰糖雪梨饮
功效:
清肺润燥,养阴生津。
材料:
– 水梨 1个
– 南北杏 6克
– 冰糖 适量
步骤:
– 将水梨与南北杏洗净。
– 把果核和枝干切除,将梨切成四块。
– 将梨、南北杏与 500ml 水一同煮沸20分钟。
– 根据个人喜好加入适量冰糖。

Location:
At the bottom of the foot on the depression point of the sole, approximately one third from the anterior (excluding the toes).
Massage gently in circular motion, approximately 20 times to stimulate the point.
